Midweek Thursdays

Acts 2:46-47 says:

'So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.'

The Bible, together with church tradition, tells us that the early church met regularly in the week. In fact, they met at least once per week for a fellowship meal, called a 'Love Feast' or 'Agape Feast'. This was not just for the sake of having a meal, but for fellowship, prayer, and partaking of the Lord's supper together.

Furthermore, in the example of Acts 20:7, Paul taught scripture to those in Troas who had gathered at a Love Feast.

We believe it is crucial to the wellbeing and heartbeat of the Church for there to be regular fellowship, prayer, and encouragement of one another.

Heb. 10:24-25 says:

'And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.'

Our midweek fellowships are at 6pm on Thursday evenings. We have a simple meal together, we review the teaching from Sunday, we ask questions, we pray together, and we enjoy the fellowship.

Kids also welcome - we have a kids area for them to play and relax - but no full children's ministry is available on Thursday evenings.

Annual Seder Meal

Every year during the week of Passover (and just before Easter), Storm leads the Church in a Seder Meal. This is a highly symbolic traditional meal observed by Jews during Passover.

While we don't observe it in the way Jews do, we go through the order of service in order to see how the different parts to the meal and the different elements on the plate point very clearly to Christ.

It is always so encouraging to see how ancient scripture and Jewish practices were foreshadowing Christ's ultimate atoning sacrifice.
